Sitsit is not a directory of child-care providers or an agency. We facilitate referrals between friends.
Parenting young kids is hard work. It’s so easy to get lost in the daily grind of diapers and homework and laundry and lunch-making. What about making time for the activities that bring us joy?
Whether yours is getting out on your bike, checking out restaurants (that don’t serve chicken fingers), or learning to play the ukulele, we want to make it as easy as possible for you to get out there and do it.
Create a profile (that can include anything you’d ever want/need to share with your sitter – from emergency contacts to critical allergy info to where the good snacks are).
Plug in your current roster of sitters and their contact info. They’ll get a text message inviting them to join the app – but it’ll still work for you if they choose not to accept. (This goes without saying, but their info will be kept under lock-and-key and never shared.)
When you’re ready to get out of the house, open the app, choose your date, enter the time and click ‘send’. This will offer your job up to the sitters on your roster – or those you’ve specifically selected – which can be accepted on their end at the click of a button.
You (and your sitter) will receive a reminder 24 hours before your scheduled ‘sit’ – eliminating any need to follow-up or confirm.
On your way out the door (or when they arrive – that part is up to you), click ‘Start’ within the app, which will begin your gig timer.
When you return home, click ‘Finish’. This will instantly calculate the amount due based on your sitter’s rates (no discussion required!) and a small service fee about the same amount as a cup of coffee.

Q: Can I find babysitters through Sitsit?
A: We are not an agency or listing service. You can, however, receive referrals from trusted friends through the app.
Q: How much will it cost to use Sitsit?
A: In addition to your sitters regular rate there is a small service fee charged to the parent. The service fee is about the same amount as a cup of coffee.
Q: Is Sitsit secure?
A: Absolutely. We take your security very seriously and have taken every measure to protect your information. It will never be shared.
Q: What if I want to add a tip?
A: While the app does have a handy gig-timing feature, you can adjust the time or add a tip any time.
Q: What happens in the event of a cancellation?
A: Stuff happens. There’s no penalty from our end for cancellations – you would simply notify your sitter (or vice versa) through the app. If your sitter cancels on you, you can re-post the job for someone else on your roster to grab.
Q: How are rates determined/communicated?
A: Babysitters have the opportunity to create their own profile, where they can post their hourly rates for you to see. You can also declare your rate when you post a gig. The important point being that ALL that money talk happens through the app, so there’s no confusion – and you never have to have an awkward financial conversation with a teenager again.
Q: Where does payment come from?
A: When you set up your Sitsit profile, you provide credit card info, which is where your ‘sits’ will be charged – exactly the same way you pay for your pizza through Uber Eats.
Q: How long will it take my sitter to receive payment?
A: Since we’re at the mercy of the banks, that depends. Generally speaking, sitters can expect to receive payment very quickly during the week (within a day or so) and within a few days if over the weekend or a holiday.
